Being in the Meantime: The Importance of Mental Health in Communities of Color

A Talk by Rossina Schroeer-Santiago (Element of Discovery, LLC, Element of Discovery, LLC)

About this Talk

In this discussion we will spend time "demythifying" some of the stereotypical stigmas that POC's (person's of color) often experience in multiple settings. We will also explore what some of these symptoms look like, the impacts of early childhood traumas in our adult lives, and how these conditions manifest themselves much differently than what we understand. More importantly, we will explore mental health treatment as a taboo in communities of color and how we can begin to change that narrative.
